🎵Graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1959
🎵One of the founding members of The Pips (Gladys Knight joined later) which formed in 1953 and accomplished as follows (to name a few):

🎵Performed in talent shows in Georgia and opened for popular acts such as Jackie Wilson and Sam Cooke. before they began recording in the early ‘60s
🎵Signed with Motown Records in 1965
🎵Signed with Buddah Records in 1973 where they became perhaps the top Soul group of the mid-70s, boasting a string of number one hits including “I’ve Got To Use My Imagination,” “I Feel A Song,” “Best Thing That Ever Happened” and their biggest song, “Midnight Train To Georgia.” It was on this song that The Pips always-fantastic choreography became iconic, backing Knight with memorable group dancing that was mimicked for years.
🎵Won two Grammys in 1973 for BEST POP VOCAL PERFORMANCE BY A DUO, GROUP OR CHORUS in 1973 with their first #1 crossover hit, “Neither One of Us Wants to be the First to Say Goodbye” and BEST R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE BY A DUO, GROUP OR CHORUS with their hit, “Midnight Train To Georgia.”
🎵Hosted their own TV special in the summer of 1975 

🎵Moved to Columbia Records in 1980 where they recorded three albums 

🎵Moved to MCA Records in 1988, Knight and the Pips released their final album together, “All Our Love.”
🎵Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
