Kimberly Moore began her journey at Booker T. Washington High School as an hourly clerk while still a student at Spelman College. Upon graduating from Spelman, Ms. Moore was offered a full-time position at the school.

Currently in her 23rd year as a full-time certified faculty member, Ms. Moore has served as Hourly Clerk, SGA Advisor, Auxiliary Sponsor, Social Studies Teacher, Department Chair, Teaching & Learning Specialist, Small Learning Community Leader, Design Team Leader, Instructional Coach, Academy Leader and now, Assistant Principal.

Her very first position as Main Office Clerk allowed her to interact and serve all stakeholder groups at Booker T. Washington High School. As Assistant Principal, she is still afforded that opportunity on a daily basis. As a self-avowed servant leader, it has always been her heart’s work to serve the community at BTW in whatever capacity.

‘Ms. Moore’s dedication to Washington is unparalleled. She’s a consummate professional but she also has a heart. Her compassion for the teachers and all our problems is so well documented, it’s the stuff of legends. Personally, I’d need a calculator to add up the times she’s looked out for me. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say I owe my longevity at Booker T. in a very large part to Ms. Moore. Kim’s the bomb diggity!”
