⚾️Attended Morehouse College where Martin Luther King, Jr. volunteered to be his big brother. ⚾️Graduated from Morehouse College as a 12-sport letterman in football, basketball, and baseball in 1956.
⚾️Played semi-pro baseball for The Atlanta Black Crackers
⚾️Professional baseball player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, 1961–68; New York Mets, 1969–71; and St. Louis Cardinals, 1972.
⚾️In 1963 and in 1968, led the National League in strike-outs.
⚾️Hit three home runs in the 1969 World Series and was named the World Series Most Valuable Player.
⚾️Received Law Degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1978
